Berkeley City Council Member Admits They Are Stupid - In The New York Times!
Tuesday night the Berkeley City Council is going to vote on a motion to rescind the resolution that called the Marines “unwelcome intruders” in their little piece of paradise.
Why?
Because they are stupid. Not stupid for rescinding the resolution, but stupid for passing it in the first place, and apparently their staff isn’t any better. At least that’s what Councilwoman Betty Olds says,
“The staff are supposed to be there to protect us from our stupidity,” said Councilwoman Betty Olds, who is 87, as feisty as a cornered rattlesnake and a leader of the retrenchment. “And they didn’t do any better than we did.”
The mayor, Tom Bates, unwittingly supports the stupid theory:

He must be stupid - how the hell can you be bewildered by the backlash and not be a bugger eating moron?
Of course its not a complete victory. The new resolution expresses opposition to the Iraq War but support for the troops and Code Pink gets to keep their parking spot, but it is a start.

As Grossman says, “We know the sheep live in denial, which is what makes them sheep.”
Sheep do not like sheepdogs (the military) even though the military protects them from the “wolves” who mean them harm. They show contempt for sheepdogs, except when the wolves arrive. Then they clamor for the sheepdogs’ protection.
