Thursday, February 28th, 2008 by Insider

What’s the world coming to when a naked woman with a “compact toned body” can be found walking down the street in Santa Monica?
Fortunately an alert and camera-equipped passerby sent a tip to Independent Sources. (And guys, we are still awaiting the high-resolution photos shot from the front.)

When did China become part of Mexico?

Thursday, February 28th, 2008 by Chad

Just checking because I checked Wikipedia and a map and they still seem to be separate countries, and China doesn’t appear to be located on North America.
So why this statement from Barack Obama:
“In Youngstown, Ohio, I talked to workers who have seen their plants shipped overseas as a consequence of bad trade deals like NAFTA, […]

What’s up with Cuba?

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 by Chad

Is Raul Castro making major changes or continuing his brothers legacy? According to this NY Times article it may be a little of both:
HAVANA — In his first state reception as Cuba’s president, Raúl Castro met Tuesday not with leftist Latin American leaders like Hugo Chávez and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, nor with […]

Starbucks closes all US stores to prepare for phase 2 of it’s “customer service” plan

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008 by Chad

and by customer service we mean detention camps and RFID chips in the buttocks:
At 5:30 p.m. Eastern time today, all 7,100 Starbucks locations in the United States will close their doors for three hours.
Immediate ramifications stretch far beyond the lack of strong coffee in dozens of permutations, though that was certainly the most important — […]

Advice from Independent Sources

Monday, February 25th, 2008 by Chad

As you know we here at Independent Sources are community minded so when I saw the following in the Washington Post I knew I had to help:
Q Whatever other people might say about Windows Vista, I love its parental controls. But my son has found a proxy-server site that lets him bypass any site blocks […]

NY Times Slams John McCain - “He was boning a lobbyist”

Thursday, February 21st, 2008 by Chad

Not having anything better to do, the NY Times’ Jim Rutenberg, Marilyn W. Thompson, David D. Kirkpatrick, and Stephen Labaton have spent the last few days researching and resurrecting an 8 year old story about a relationship that everyone involved denies and tying it back into the Keating 5 scandal. As far as smears […]

Castro Resigns

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 by Chad

Apparently his brain eating zombie powers weren’t enough to keep him in office.
I am just wondering how Hugo Chavez is feeling right now? I mean first he loses the President for Life referendum in December, then Exxon says screw you we want our money and freezes $12,000,000,000 in assets and he makes […]

What is it about Obama that makes women swoon?

Monday, February 18th, 2008 by Chad

I don’t think it’s his looks, but not being known as a fine judge of male pulchritude I could be wrong.
He’s a major political candidate so it’s probably not b.o.
Whatever it is the women, they are dropping like flies.
Dori Monson of 710 KIRO here in Seattle has found at least 7 examples of […]

Breasts Loom Large in Congressional Steriods Inquiry

Friday, February 15th, 2008 by Insider

Brian McNamee, the star witness in the Congressional inquiry on steroids in baseball, related the story of Mrs. Roger Clemens showing Mrs. Jose Canseco her boobs and in return Mrs. Canseco flashing hers back.
From McNamee’s deposition:

I could tell a specific story about him [Clemens] being there, which was involving Jose (Canseco), Jose’s wife and Roger’s […]

US Trade deficit down by 6.9% in 2007

Thursday, February 14th, 2008 by Chad

This after hitting record levels for 5 straight years. The deficit with China was up 10.2% however.
December 2007 - petroleum imports were more than half the total U.S. trade deficit, but non-petroleum products fell to $34.8 billion, its lowest level since November of 2003.
The U.S. had record exports to China of […]

Berkeley City Council Member Admits They Are Stupid - In The New York Times!

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 by Chad

Tuesday night the Berkeley City Council is going to vote on a motion to rescind the resolution that called the Marines “unwelcome intruders” in their little piece of paradise.
Why?
Because they are stupid. Not stupid for rescinding the resolution, but stupid for passing it in the first place, and apparently their staff isn’t […]

Paul Krugman on the “Clinton Rules”

Monday, February 11th, 2008 by Chad

Paul Krugman is a funny guy. At least I think he is - I mean I am assuming that it is his dry wit shining through when he complains about the “Clinton Rules” in use by the US media:
the term a number of observers use for the way pundits and some news organizations treat […]

LA Times Inaccurate Portrayal of Geffen-Obama Endorsement

Saturday, February 9th, 2008 by Insider

Dear Tina Daunt (columnist of the Los Angeles Times):
David Geffen did not buy the Los Angeles Times. He is not your boss. You do not have to do his bidding nor kiss his ass. Yes he is a powerful, vindictive individual used to getting his own way but the press is supposed to be immune […]

The dream is dead - Pandora Peaks garners no delegates on Super Tuesday

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 by Chad

As you all know I veered from the mainstream candidates early on and endorsed Pandora Peaks as my preferred presidential candidate, both for the lyrical nature of the name title combination (President Pandora Peaks just sounds good) and for the huge knockers - but mainly for the huge knockers. Anyway her campaign has been […]

Nurse Mistakenly Uses Hydrogen Peroxide in Enema with Predictable Results

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008 by Insider

You can insert your own punchline into this story.
Russians visiting a health resort received a rude shock when a nurse used hydrogen peroxide instead of water to give them enemas. Itar-Tass news agency reported Thursday that 17 tourists in the Caucasus spa town of Yessentuki had to be treated in hospital after the mix-up.
Sources […]
