Stupid + Litigious = Douchebag
An absolutely hilarious exchange between some douchebag named Richard Figueroa at the blog TechCrunch concerning a link from Google (or as Figueroa calls it “The Google”) to Techcrunch. Evidently, Figueroa takes exception to the fact that “the Google” links to Techcrunch instead of his client the photographer. In an exchange the operator of Techcrunch tries to explain to him that it is not in Techcrunch’s control to whom and how Google links. Not only does Figueroa not understand this but he tries to raise the stakes on his extortion by calling and threatening Techcrunch’s advertisers.
We are asking that you pay Beth $150,000,00 for the image that you have been using to generate business. If you choose not to settle this bill now we will ask for $1,500,000 in damages in loss of income form the image you have been borrowing for creating traffic to your website with here picture.
By the way, some people have become so incensed with Figueroa that they’ve called him up personally to tell him so leading him to threaten to take “legal activation” against anyone who calls him. Let us know if you have his phone number, we’d like to call the douchebag up for a quote.
