Holly Ashcraft Attorney: Tossing Babies Into Trash Cans Is Not Wrong

Holly ““The Trash Can Killer” Ashcraft
From the KCBS News coverage of Holly’s legal wrangling: “Her attorney contends the 23-year old did nothing wrong.”
Ashcraft’s attorney Mark Geragos “There is no evidence that there was any kind of abuse…. Nothing was done to harm the infant.”
We beg to differ.
Holly has admitted to getting knocked up yet again, not getting any prenatal care, having the baby alone in her apartment, and tossing the dead baby into a dumpster in the alley behind her residence. All of this was done within a 42 second drive of a safe haven for dropping off unwanted babies. All of Holly’s admitted actions qualify as doing something very wrong.
The only point being argued is whether or not the baby was born alive before she treated it like refuse, which would make it murder. This decision is the subject of a three-way back and forth between the prosecution, her defense team and various judges. The latest appears to be that she will not face murder charges.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Samuel Mayerson ruled that charges against Holly Ashcraft had been dismissed twice — first murder and then involuntary manslaughter — the maximum allowed to prosecutors under state law. In effect, he ruled that no more homicide charges can be filed against her relating to the death of her son.
“Now that the murder case has been dismissed, we are going to attempt to get her back into USC,” Geragos said.
We’re sure USC wants a baby killer back on campus as much as it wants OJ Simpson coming back for a graduate degree.
Let’s just agree on one thing, Holly has absolutely done something wrong. In fact many things wrong. At some point, even with defense attorneys, common sense not to mention moral decency matters too.
