LA Times Discovers The Smokin’ Hot Prep Pole Vaulter Allison Stokke
The Times they are a-changing…
Employing the ‘if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” strategy against blogs, The Los Angeles Times published a Front Page story on Allison Stokke with photos.

Allison Stokke
It’s hard to imagine this happening prior to the Tribune takeover but in the midst of declining revenues, who can blame them? People aren’t exactly subscribing to read the latest Tim Rutten rant or those of his buddies that thus far have refused to take the buy-outs. (Hint: the next ones offered will be smaller.)
The Times also featured a front page California section story on Paris Hilton. At some point the media companies have realized that that right or wrong readers are bailing on them in droves. They can either buy their new Internet competitors (as CBS and NewCorp have done) or act like them. With the recent Bancroft family switcheroo it won’t be long until we’re reading about Stokke in the Wall Street Journal too.
Speaking of CBS, here’s a KCBS video story on Allison. Horn dog Jim Hill was all over this.
Stokke’s dad is also becoming part of the story. On one hand he’s trying to control the media frenzy on the other she is granting interviews to major media outlets. He is a defense attorney by trade. (h/t on this from WithLeater)

Interesting story here. Being a dad myself, I can understand her dad being a bit creeped out, but I think pro atheletes can’t exactly hide from the spotlight, either.
