Who says you can’t rekindle love? Joey and Amy back together
It’s a classic romantic tale…
-
boy meets (underage) girl, girl shoots boy’s wife in the face, boy and girl go to jail. Girl marries another man and has two kids. Man meets other woman and has kids. Both divorce. Finally boy and girl reunite for a cheesey TV tabloid show and profess love…
Yes Amy Fisher and Joey Buttafuoco are back.

Amy in her teenage kind-of-hot days

Amy looking a little ‘long-in-the-tooth’
Amy used to be kind of hot–in a slutty Long Island crazy kind of way. Unfortunately she was crazy in a homicidal kind of way, and underage too. Her love interest, Joey, was simply a sleaze ball loser. Somehow they found love, that is until Amy popped Buttafuoco’s wife in the face with a bullet and their love was no more. Until 2007, that is. 15 years after the shooting the Long Island Lolita and Joey are back kissing again.

Always was, always will be creepy
The NY Post has the improbable story:
“We’re dating,” proclaimed Fisher, who was all of 17 when she shot Buttafuoco’s first wife, Mary Jo, in the head while having her illicit affair with the then-38-year-old Joey.
Fisher told the [Insider] TV show, “We know we’re unconventional and a lot of people think it’s sick and strange. We’re very hesitant about what people think. We care about what people think. We’re nice people. We’re a lot of fun.”
It has been a long, strange trip for Fisher, now 32, and Buttafuoco, 53.
She served seven years in prison for shooting Mary Jo - yesterday was the 15th anniversary of the bloody assault. Buttafuoco did four months for statutory rape.
Since then, Fisher got married and is now in the middle of a divorce, while Buttafuoco divorced Mary Jo and married a second time, but that union is also on the rocks.
He has also gone to jail three more times for various run-ins with the law, including soliciting a prostitute.
America needs a good love story, Fisher claims - and so what if they’re sharing their relationship with the world?
She said their bond was unmistakable, even after 15 years and a near-fatal shooting.
“I think once you date people, you [may] not see them for a long time but you always feel something when you look at them and you like that person,” she said. “He flew here for sparks. He’s getting a divorce, I’m getting a divorce, people talk - and, all right, we’re dating!”
He echoed: “All right, we’re dating!”
No matter what the world thinks, it’s clear the attraction is still strong between this couple that some people love to hate.
“A year ago I was really angry. I had a medical situation, and I was on heavy meds. I needed to release that part of my past and have some closure on it.”
He was referring to his meltdown aimed at Fisher during a reunion “The Insider” staged last year among the participants in the doomed love triangle.
“That’s very painful for me,” he said. “I feel really terrible about it. I reached out to her from jail because I needed to put it behind me . . . I was looking for closure.
“Mary Jo claims to have closure, and Amy obviously has done well with it, and I can’t move on until I release it and see where the future goes.”
As for Mary Jo, who was disfigured in the shooting, she’s moved on. She now goes by her maiden name, Connery, lives in California and runs a small business with fiancé Stu Tendler, called OriginalPartyPosters.com, which designs posters.
Here’s a video of the two love birds from last year.

ala Burt & Linda, Joey & Amy … How about that couple in Marin County, California with their 25-year also odd-ball on-again off-again on-again love-affair story? Recent court papers filed by both in Reno, Nevada and Marin County, California provide glimpses into another secret world of adultery, sex, bondage, domination, cross-dressing, double lives, and fetishes. Into this vacuum of secrecy, rumors have flown. Wonder what would happen if we asked him to conduct the College’s Symphonic Band in Barber’s School For Scandal? What he has signaled in his Marin court papers, however, are themes that are the same recurring obsessions with Burt and Linda Pugach, and Amy Fischer and Joey: divorce, gripping lust, adultery, escapism, drive for money and power, marriage, the sadness of separation, public masks, perfect volleys of he said/she said, obsessive love, the joy of repeated reconciliations, disturbing accusations, private games, false police reports, anger, bondage, forgery, narcissism, romance, affairs, compulsion, secrecy, train-wreck, co-dependency, crazy, strong attraction, long-lasting relationship, fraud, engrossing togetherness, anguish in misunderstandings, need for control, insecurity in each other’s love, and living double lives. Who cares what the shrinks or others think or write?! Here again, romance prevails. I stand up and cheer for these who have loved in honesty for what they are and the person they love are and continue to love each other with all its craziness. You go Joey & Amy!

When one is married to more than one that’s bigamy, a felony. When one is having an affair while with another, that’s adultery, such as Joey and Amy. In their case, open and notorious adultery.
“A guy who’s got the chutzpah to try to pull the wool over somebody’s eyes. That’s a good definition of a bigamist,” said University of Cincinnati clinical psychiatry professor Linda Chernus. “One (spouse) is hard enough,” joked Chernus, who has researched bigamists and believes generally they have such low self-esteem that they marry multiple spouses to compensate with a sense of “grandiosity.” “They need to control women, to keep secrets and keep autonomy so no one knows what’s going on inside of them,” Chernus said. “There may also be some underlying insecurity. “(Bigamists) have a sense of invincibility that they can get away with this. They think they can get away with anything,” she said.
With that Marin County, California couple’s own version of Crazy Love, the consensus amount mental health professionals is that the vast majority of cross-dressing men are heterosexual, and that bondage, being tied up by an attractive woman during sexual intercourse, is the second most common male fantasy, with intercourse the first. There is also the aspect of crossdressing of developing a distinct second personalty.
Bigamy, adultery, crossdressing, and double lives are all related. There was something missing in each person that drove them to become involved in it For those lucky enough to have found and lived it, it is an addiction, a connection, a co-dependency equally as necessary as eating, drinking and breathing. It’s not only Joey and Amy, it’s Bert and Linda Pugach, it’s Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, it’s Jim and Morgan, and the rest of us who choose Crazy Love over Vanilla Love.
