John Edwards is on Twitter and boy does he look silly

As the Presidential-wannabees of 2008 fall all over themselves trying to be the most digital, John Edwards is clearly trying to be more “web 2.0” than any of the other candidates.
Not surprisingly, he looks silly.
He’s now posting regular updates on Twitter, the uber-buzzy social network populated largely by 20-somethings blogging about playing videogames or ordering Chinese food.
You might have to be registered to see his postings but here is a sampling from the last few days…

Then remarks at the Boilermakers conference. 10:24 AM March 14, 2007 from web@scobleizer: will fund alternative energy production that will offset the carbon generated from campaign travel. 04:26 PM March 13, 2007 from web in reply to Scobleizer

His postings were so cliched that I’m wondering if it’s really and I’m not getting punked. However some of it is so ridiculous (see bold) that it’s almost certainly Edwards. Can’t wait to see the Twitter postings of Al Gore–the guy who invented the Internet in the first place.
And finally, someone is predicting Arianna Huffington’s ego will compel her to join Twitter.

Being a political Twit
John Edwards decided to appeal to the Web 2.0 crowd and apparently decided to do this through something I had never toyed with before, Twitter. So I did. It’s now non the sidebar on the Webdream blog being as it’s

I didn’t even know what the heck Twitter was until I saw this post.
It could be said, if we’re to look at this from a slightly more positive standpoint, that Edwards may actually be helping to promote these social networks – even though he isn’t into a whole lot of videogames.

Edwards is leading in many things, personally I like following the campaign with twitter, and frankly I find your whole take on it silly. Let me guess, it would be ok if it were Giuliani, Romney, or McCain!

DK2: Your following the election on Twitter? I guess it could be worse, you could be following the election on Second Life. Please don’t tell me that JE is on Second Life. And if Giuliani, Romney, or McCain find themselves on Twitter (or Second Life) then I invite you back as a guest columnist to write about how silly they look too.

Will wonders never cease! I except!
Yes, I follow location and updates on twitter, it is faster and current news, for those who are busy, and on the run.
It reminds me of the old stock market kind of ticker tape – ha! I wonder, did those who started twitter use the ticker?
I must stop now, or my old age will show.
Later, gator!
