Move Over Al Gore, Help Has Arrived

Former Canadian defense minister Paul Hellyer, 83, is demanding governments worldwide disclose and use secret alien technologies obtained in alleged UFO crashes to stem climate change.

“I would like to see what (alien) technology there might be that could eliminate the burning of fossil fuels within a generation … that could be a way to save our planet.”

Alien spacecrafts would have traveled vast distances to reach Earth, and so must be equipped with advanced propulsion systems or used exceptional fuels, he told the newspaper.

Such alien technologies could offer humanity alternatives to fossil fuels, he said, pointing to the enigmatic 1947 incident in Roswell, New Mexico — which has become a shrine for UFO believers — as an example of alien contact.

“We need to persuade governments to come clean on what they know. Some of us suspect they know quite a lot, and it might be enough to save our planet if applied quickly enough,” he said.

This pronouncement comes just a week ahead of the screening of a new UFO documentary called “Fastwalkers” featuring this same Mr. Hellyer. A skeptic might wonder whether or not Hellyer is trying to leverage current media interest in global warming to promote “Fastwalkers.” If so it has worked.

Michael De Robertis, an astronomer at York University and and member of the Ontario Skeptics Society for Critical Inquiry, said there is “little or no compelling evidence” that we have been visited by beings from another planet.

“If (Mr. Hellyer) wants to broker some kind of communication, that would be great,” he said. “But I think the probability that there is someone out there for him to make contact with is highly improbable.”

I’m surprised that media whore Hellyer didn’t cite the need to harness advanced alien technology so that we could resuscitate Anna Nicole Smith.

Seriously, I hope that a representative of earth brings this up at the next meeting of the Interstellar Trade Alliance on Zorgon.
