A Hilarious Discussion of the Income Tax

Since Insider beat me to the Anna Nicole Smith story I had to go find something stupid to make up for it. 

Over at digg there is an article about another nutball trying to avoid paying taxes by disputing the legality of the income tax. 

This is pretty common and the courts consistently rule against these people, what makes this particular one fun is Ed Brown is requesting help, including the donation of an M1A1 tank (tongue in cheek according to him), for his standoff with the government. 

What makes it even more fun is the comments at digg.  My particular favorite is the one where the guy (biffnix) complains about being dugg down for providing an actual fact.  That is just so digg like. 

Another cool thing is our good buddy Alex Jones makes an appearance. The opening sections are pretty interesting, he cuts in video of military exercises with SWAT raids to make it look like the military is establishing a police state. Good Times.

(Note:  This doesn’t mean I necessarily agree with all aspects of American Tax Policy just that it’s legal)

Update: - Ooops - just noticed that the first sentence makes it sound like I was making a comment on Anna Nicole Smith’s death and the coverage. I wasn’t. I just meant that was kind of a bummer so I had to find something laughable to counteract it. Anna Nicole Smith had her (many) problems, but everyone deserves a modicum of respect, especially in death.

    Bush goes ballistic about other countries being evil and dangerous, because they have weapons of mass destruction. But, he insists on building up even a more deadly supply of nuclear arms right here in the US. What do you think? How does that work in a democracy again? How does being more threatening make us more likeable?Isn’t the country with
    the most weapons the biggest threat to the rest of the world? When one country is the biggest threat to the rest of the world, isn’t that likely to be the most hated country?
