Bad Parenting: You let your kids re-enact a hanging
A young Pakistani boy who tried to copy the televised execution scenes from the execution video of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein hanged himself resulting in his death.
Mubashar Ali, 9, was aided by his elder sister, 10, after tying a rope to a ceiling fan and his neck in his home.
The father of the deceased boy said that his children had been watching the video of Saddam Hussein’s execution on television and attempted to imitate the hanging as other family members thought they were playing in another room.
“It was an accident which happened due to carelessness of parents,” said district police chief Sultan Ahmad.
Images of the fallen Iraqi dictator with a strap around his neck, surrounded by executioners in balaclavas, were repeatedly telecast by Pakistani television channels at the weekend.
Some parents evidently thought it was okay for family viewing.

That video is being shown on TV? I know you could find it on the internet or YouTube, but I’m surprised to hear its being broadcast like an od episode of Friends or something. Violence (and bad parenting, apparently) begets violence. Still, pretty sad.

We’ve had violence and bad parenting for millions of years. The only difference now is that we have the Internet and shameless blogs like Independent Sources to write about it.
