Why the LAPD Likes the Beach Beat
As we come to the mid-point of December and Jack Frost is nipping at noses around most of the country. In the shot below, an unnamed uniformed officer snaps a picture of two Venice beach denizens.

Almost looks like a staged postcard, but it’s not.
Update: We are told the officer may be SMPD (Santa Monica Police Department). Photo was taken at the border of SM and Venice (LAPD territory) and will go with what the commenter says below.

Nice place for a training ride. That’s about as productive as my fartlek run at Del Amo Mall.

The officer’s wearing a uniform patch - she’s not LAPD.
I worked the Venice Beach detail a few years ago and, yes, we enjoy enforcing the nudity laws more than chasing gangsters through Oakwood.
In this photo, the bikini girls look like Gold’s Gym contestants, which would place them a few miles north in the City of Santa Monica. The photographer’s patch resembles SMPD’s patch too. Take a look:

Clark you have a good eye. I’ll be honest when I look at this photo I’m not spending too much time looking at the officer if you know what I mean.
