Broadband Woes Worsen for Insider
I’m in day 5 of dial-up and below speeds at the Insider household. I think I’d rather lose heat or water than broadband and the situation has made it very hard to post hence the infrequent updates.
An observation: You know you are spending too much time on the phone with the Indian tech support personnel when you start to understand what they are actually saying without asking them to repeat everything 3 times.
First call:
-
Tech Support: “Pleece deece-able your sweech.”
Me: “Please do what???”
Now (after several days of dealing with them):
-
Tech Support: “Pleece deece-able your sweech.”
Me: “Okay, I’ve disabled my switch.”
Yes we are a global economy. Of course since the problem appears to be at my c.o. which is a mile from my house it’s frustrating that I have to deal with someone in Bangalore instead of just driving up to the Verizon switching facility and asking someone to fix the flaky router that is causing me so much trouble.
