Muslimr: an Islamic version of Flickr

It makes it so easy to upload and share pictures like this:

If you are interested in anti-Western videos, here is an Islamic rip-off of YouTube called IslamicVideos.net. This is where I was able to learn the “Truth of 9/11.”

How about an Islamic MySpace? Yep, it’s called….MuslimSpace!

Muslim dating? Try this.

Muslim Digg? Yep. It’s called MuslimShout.

Note that there is nothing wrong with Muslim entrepreneurs starting technology companies (in fact this is a good thing) and the sites themselves can’t be blamed for what some people post (just think of the crap that is posted on MySpace, YouTube and the comments section of Digg) unless the sites are encouraging it and I didn’t see that (or at least much of that) on the sites above. However all of the sites were completely devoid of creativity. I didn’t see one new feature, new approach or new take on any of the areas they were addressing and in the church of technology, that’s blasphemy.

What about an Islamic version of Independent Sources? Not yet but we’d be happy to cooperate with someone on it as long as they were not offended by our unique take on world events.
