Small world, huh? Actually it reads like an urban legend. Could a child molester/killer actually get put in the same jail as a relative of the 10-year old girl (“Katie”) he molested/killed? Yes. Even better, this relative evidently gets the molester permanently marked with the words “Katie’s Revenge” scrawled with a jailhouse tattoo across his forehead. Even those who are against vengeance will have to admit his is a pretty cool story.

Nice tat Stockelman

The Indiana Department of Correction placed Anthony Ray Stockelman, 39, in protective custody away from the general inmate population last weekend after authorities discovered the tattoo on his forehead. This would assume that they are upset at the branding and in fact did not have a hand in it–assumptions I certainly wouldn’t make.

Sometimes revenge isn’t sweet- it’s just the only way to release some of the pain that has been afflicted upon us.

Officials did not know how a picture of the crude tattoo was taken and distributed outside the prison, including on the Internet.

Collman’s father, John Neace, said he heard about the tattoo from friends and believes it was the work of inmates.

“If I had to guess I’d say it’s a statement from the inmates,” he said Wednesday. Neace said has no idea whether his late daughter’s distant cousin, who is also serving time at Wabash, played any role.

And if I had to guess, I’d say they were all pretty happy about it. Sorry, I think when the victim is a 10-year old girl this is justice. It’s not like they shanked him nor got the wrong guy as he had confessed to the killing (not to mention the DNA evidence).
