“Thong Girl 3″ filmed in Mayor’s office; earns our vote

“I had no idea what the movie was about,” [Gallatin, Tennessee, Mayor Don] Wright said on Friday. “They told me it was about a superhero woman and there was no nudity or offensive stuff in it. Other than that, I really didn’t have a clue.”
Sure you didn’t.
According to the Thong Girl Web site, heroine Lana Layonme wears a red thong under a cape as she flies over Nashville repelling a villain who is trying to turn country music performers into rappers. The movie is the third in a series released only on DVD.
Superhero material?
Update: Not from the film but should be.
Thong Girl: 3’s film maker Glen Weiss stressed that his movie is “family friendly.”
“This is definitely a PG-13 movie. There’s no nudity, no cussing and no sex. The family can go to this.”
The mayor then said:
“If there’s something derogatory or sexual in it, I’m not pleased about anything like that being in my office.”
Which is an ironic quote given that the mayor had earlier gotten into trouble in that office by asking a female employee if she had breast implants–a question the employee considered to be both derogatory and sexual. The mayor attended sexual harassment training after the woman complained and said she was so “embarrassed, humiliated, afraid to say anything and angry at all parties involved.” She is probably particularly happy to see that same mayor playing host to Thong Girl:3.

Thong Girl smells fishy. I looked at the Reuters article and there’s no mention of the actress’s actual name. I went onto the IMDB and there’s no “Thong Girl 3″ title in the list. And if this is TG3, there should be a TG2 and original TG–but I couldn’t see them.
The story mentions “according to the Thong Girl website,” but I haven’t been able to find a Thong Girl website.
So either it’s a hoax of some sort, or my web search skills are seriously eroding.

I too could not find the website nor anything on IMDB–though I’m not sure how thoroughly they cover cheap direct-to-video titles.
Despite not finding third party confirmation we went with the story because how in the world could Reuters ever be the victim of a hoax? (On second thought don’t answer that.)

Any chance you can get to run a photo of that girl should be acted upon. But Reuters surprises me; maybe I’m used to blogs or other internet news outlets which actually link to their sources so you can check these things.
I think the Thong Girl series website may bare useful information–if it can be found.

I can’t think of a more important exercise than to investigate this further. Anytime one can search “thong” on Google and call it “research” is a win for all.
