Why not to believe Air America’s bankruptcy denials

Let’s look at the arguments for bankruptcy:

Reports that Rob Glaser, the Real Networks founder who rescued the 2-year-old network from its first financial crisis, “walked away last week” and took his moneybags with him.”

They laid off six people this week.

They deleted Jerry Springer from it’s lineup (he returns to independent syndication).

They haven’t been able to pay its Associated Press bill.

Earlier this month, the network was evicted from flagship WLIB and moved to a station with a weaker signal, WWRL (1600 AM).

Al Franken’s comment that “there have been cash-flow problems. I haven’t been paid in a while - like, no cash is flowing to me.”

Late payments to Multicultural Broadcasting for time it leased on Chicago and Los Angeles stations.

The argument against bankruptcy:

Air America spokeswoman Jaime Horn denies it. She wouldn’t be lying would she?

Our prediction, expect to read a statement that Air America has been let go to pursue other opportunities.

I feel bad for the six people layed off. I hope they can get their old jobs back stacking produce at Whole Foods.
