LAT’s Botches Hair Piece; Doesn’t do “mullets” justice

Once again MSM doesn’t know how to cover a mullet

Sunday’s edition of the LAT points readers to a special photo gallery on LAT.com called “Remembering the Mullet.” Being a fan of the mullet I was very excited to see what a media organization with the resources of Tribune would be able to do on the topic. Unfortunately, I was let down once again by the Times. Their gallery featured only nine images with just one (see below) truly capturing the essence of a fine mullet.

The other photos were so-so celebrity mullets by Bono, Rod Stewart and Martina Navratilova among others.

Now contrast these Times images to photos from the authoritative blog “Mullets Galore,” and the Times would have done much better by just pointing to them. Here are just a few of the hundreds of mullet photos from Mullets Galore:

The “classic” look:

Tattoos always go well with the classic.

The “Mane”:

Cigarettes are a nice accent to a mane.

Mullet Flock:

It doesn’t get better than this.

The Times does certain things well, but when it comes to a specialized topic such as mullets they would be advised to just point to experts.

That last group actually sports some really nice, flattering hairdos. As far as I’m concerned, 80’s hair rocks. I’m sick of these ridiculous 70’s fashion comebacks. I LOVE THE 80’s! WOO-HOO!!!!
    (Yes, I’m serious.)
