Big Thought Of The Day - How Far Would You Go To Save Your Mother And Sister?
I went to see the movie Cavite yesterday, and that is what brings up the question above.
The storyline of Cavite consists of a Filipino-American of Muslim background returning to the Phillipines for his father’s funeral to discover his mother and sister have been kidnapped by Abu-Sayyaf (the local Al-Qaeda affliate). In order to save them he must follow orders being relayed over a cell phone. I don’t want to go into much more detail in case someone actually goes to see it.
The movie was pretty well done, but I found the ending a little confusing. The shots of the Phillipines brought back some memories, and the hand-cam style filming made the experience more immersive. Overall I would say see the movie, and amswer the question in the comments section: How far would you go to save your mother and sister.
