Maxine Waters exclaims “It isn’t fair to take away our ability to lie”

During the debate of the Iraq War Resolution in the House of Representatives Maxine Waters (D-CA) declared it was unfair to make Democrats take a position on the war:

“And so, many Democrats are going to get trapped. Because they claim that in their districts they have half of their constituents for it, this war and half against it and they don’t know what to do.”

What she is really saying is they won’t be able to lie about their position because it will be on the record, and darn it that just isn’t fair.

I am not in Representative Waters’s district and if I was I wouldn’t vote for her, (unless I was a murderer seeking asylum in Cuba or was married to one of her kids and needed to drum up some business) but I can support a politician who takes an honest position and sticks with it even if I disagree with it. Those are just few and far between.

Being able to talk out of both sides of their mouth is a job-description for a Politician. Take it away and they have nothing.
