6.6.6: Defense lawyers time appeal for satanic serial killer Richard Ramirez to coincide with opening of “The Omen”

In what can only be thought of as a sick inside joke, the appeals lawyers for serial killer Richard Ramirez (aka the Night Stalker) who killed 13 people in the Los Angeles area in the 1980s timed the filing of their appeal to 6.6.6 (2006). Not coincidentally this is the exact same date that the studio marketing the remake of The Omen released it to theaters.

For those who don’t know or remember the Night Stalker killings, Ramirez left satanic symbols and forced some victims to “swear to Satan” after he sneaked through their unlocked windows and doors. He must have been particularly pleased with the date chosen by his lawyers.

If his lawyer’s stunt doesn’t work perhaps Richard Ramirez should try writing a few children’s books like Tookie and perhaps win over a few celebrities to the cause.
