Online Poker Players draw to an inside straight, go to jail.
Washington State makes online gaming for money a Class C felony punishable by 10 years in prison.
State Senator Margarita Prentice (D-Seattle) cares about her constituents so much that she wants to send them to prison for enjoying the joys of playing poker online in their underwear at 3:00 am. I wonder if all that concern is reinforced by the fact the Sen. Prentice is a major recieptent of donations by local casino owning indian tribes and by a local non-Indian casino, none of which would encounter further regulation. (source: Wa State PDC).
If you live in Washington and the thought of prison is dissuading you from getting your cheap thrills by playing online poker you might want to consider car theft as a substitute. It is a quick adrenaline rush and you have to be convicted 7 times before serving any prison time.
