Stupid Criminal of the Day: Text Messages Offer to Sell Pot; Cops Reply with a Bust

“Marijuana for sale” not the wisest text message say experts.

Why is this man so sad?

Jacob Lyman, 18, is sad because he was just arrested on two counts of distribution. Lyman was sending out text messages that said, “Marijuana for sale.” After a tip, investigators said they contacted his phone and purchased pot from the fledgling dealer. Just to be sure they bought weed from him a second time.

This is right up there with the California teen who posted a picture of himself taking a bong hit only to have that picture end up in the hands of his local PD.

We’ve said this many times before, don’t do online what you wouldn’t do offline. If you are uncomfortable openly posting flyers around your town with offers of pot then don’t do so via random text messages–it’s the same thing. Ditto with pictures using your product. When will people learn?

Dumb and dumber.
