The Republic Stands -
Well it has been four days since the “Day without labor” and I have been waiting anxiously for some company to declare bankruptcy or some government official to place some bad economic news at the foot of the protesters. So far it hasn’t happened. I have the feeling that most people had the same experience I did; other than the traffic disruption the only immediately noticeable disturbance to my daily life was the bloviation that was everywhere on radio and TV.
There were a couple of things that greatly irritated me however, specifically an overabundance of Communist imagery / associations:

and advocacy of the Aztlan movement:

notice that the Aztlan banner appears to advocate violence (those are rifles behind the cross).
Seriously do the protesters think that these displays are helping their cause? Everyone I know who has seen these pictures have been outraged. (Well almost everyone I occasionally encounter some Commies among the great unwashed of the U-District.) I think I have made my feelings on the immigration issue pretty well known, but if anything will get me to support mass deportations it is Latino organizations associating themselves with Che and the idea of the forcible breakup of the US in the name of Aztlan.
In other immigration news:
1. Congress still hasn’t passed an immigration reform bill.
2. Vincente Fox is going to pay a visit here to Seattle. I want to get press credentials so I can ask him “El Presidente, since you support open borders I assume that you would not be upset if the United States government gave out 12,000,000 maps and some seed money and sent entrepreneurs south to set up businesses, which will eventually destroy the Mexican middle class. Am I correct?” I’m betting his answer wouldn’t be printable.

Like you this didn’t make one wit of difference in my day. Also, like you and others, this pist me off big time.
You and I have chatted before on this issue. The more these criminals scream for Aztlan, Amnesty, and the disolution of the U.S. the more people will come over to my way of thinking. Mass deportation, militarily securing the border, ammending the Constitution to exclude from citizenship the children of Illegals and in general putting asside leftwing sensitivity BS. So, keep it up Illegals and soon my kind will be in charge!
