MySpace for Catholics? Finding Soul Mates Online
BusinessWeek online reports that a nun (or more correctly Sister Judith Zoebelein, the editorial director of the Internet Office of the Holy See) in the the Vatican is working on a MySpace-like environment for Catholics. Here is a link to the existing Vatican web site but as you can see it is strictly Web 1.0–not a lot of community features. Says the good nun:
“There will be personal news updates, e-learning programs, and areas set aside for families, young people, and parishes.”
Oh boy!
Did someone trick me with the Onion again?
I’m leaving comments open but please no quips about how there will probably be more sexual predators in this MySpace clone than the real MySpace.
