Do you really have to pay income taxes?
Do you really have to pay income taxes? Of course you do, but somehow there are still people out there peddling the theory that taxes are voluntary or that by filing a “zero return” you won’t have to pay taxes. Evidently, enough gullible people have tried these and other silly arguments that the IRS has even created an easy-to-read document debunking of the various frivolous arguments that they are telling you upfront will be non-starters in tax court.
While on the subject, in case you’ve somehow heard that you can slip out of the IRS’ audit stream by not using the preprinted labels supplied with your income tax forms, Snopes sadly says not true.
