From Disney to Jail: Ex-Record Exec Picked-up in Pellicano Case

Robert Joseph Pfeifer, 50, (who was typically referred to as “Bob Pfeifer”) has been jailed in connection with the wiretap and conspiracy prosecution of former Hollywood private investigator Anthony Pellicano (who Pfeifer reportedly referred to as his “godfather”).

Pfeifer had allegedly previously fled to Canada when he believed an indictment was imminent. In a custody battle, Pfeifer’s ex-wife referred to an email that said:

“Hypothetically, I am assuming I will not have the money to fight this if it escalates; I am not going to jail. You see me. I wouldn’t last a night. I have two alternatives then to run or commit suicide … “

The exact charges are unknown but based on another email from Pfeifer’s attorney it is possible that Pfeifer will be indicted for conspiracy, illegal wiretapping, computer fraud and obstruction of justice.

Pfeifer was a member of the early 1980s band Human Switchboard, which recorded an album for now defunct independent label I.R.S. Records. He was president of Hollywood Records from 1994 to 1997, (during which time the company was sued for sexual harassment) where according to sources he was fired or asked to leave after continued poor performance by the label. Pfeifer had worked earlier for Epic Records, a division of Sony Music. In 2000, he founded a multimedia company Segnana Inc.

Pfeifer’s self-written biography has this to say:

He (Pfeifer) also knows Michael Eisner who told Bob that he “had to stop referring to himself (Bob) as crazy because he had become so successful, he could now be considered ‘eccentric.’”

Sure Bob.
