If you haven’t heard of Nikolay Valuev, you soon will. Don King wants to give him the nickname “King Kong.” In Russia he’s already known as the “Russian Giant.” In the rest of the world it’s the “Beast from the East.” Nikolay won a disputed match against John Ruiz for the WBA heavyweight title but it’s the pictures of him fighting out-sized opponents that are the most eye-catching. He looks like a man against boys. The good news for him is that with his menacing looks, even if his fight career doesn’t pan out there will certainly be a role for him in Rocky IX.

Update: Two Stupid White Guys had an even more stunning picture (which was also in the LAT story linked above) and when looking at it remember the guy on the right (yeah the little guy) was the WBA heavyweight champion at the time of the photo:
