“A Million Little Lies,” Oprah Winfrey says “F*** the Truth, I’m Bigger than the Truth!”

In face of evidence of fraud and deceit by James Frey, one of her favorite authors, Oprah Winfrey claims that despite the lies the underlying message is (sort of) true so people should just back the damn off. She said that the parts of the book that were true outweighed all of the parts that were made up. Even more of the point, it is the book publisher’s damn fault anyway.
For his part, Frey pointed a finger at the Smoking Gun for checking up on him in the first place.
It appears that the days of people being embarrassed for committing mass fraud are sadly gone. Why would it be so hard for Oprah and Frey to just say sorry for deceiving all of the little people who bought the book?
