Parental Tip: Be concerned when jr. builds bombs and carves words into his skin

The above brooding, troubled youth is Scott Dyleski who is charged with a northern California murder. We had to run his photo because the “students” charged in the story below are juveniles–hence no names and no photos. However, our guess is that we’re pretty close on the look.
Now for the story…
Once again we have two more students who intentionally dress, look and act as differently as possible get embittered when other students tease them for their looks. Instead of just trying to fit in they instead decide to kill everyone.
The two (unnamed because of their ages) self-described “goths” were formerly at Quartz Hill High School in Quartz Hill, California, wore black clothing, black makeup & nail polish and piercings, said they felt “ostracized” at Quartz Hill High coats. One was a 17-year-old student at Littlerock High and the other a 15-year-old who attends Desert Sands Charter School. One of them had the word “hate” carved into his forearm. Could these and the other clues have been a tip to the parents that all was not well with the little ones? How about the fact that in 2003 they were responsible for an assault in which a 14-year-old boy was sodomized with a metal rod? For that alone the parents should have been just a little extra careful and been searching their rooms and the garage for guns, bombs, hate literature, knives, live ammunition, gas masks, etc.–all of which were found in their houses by police.
One of them had a notebook in which he had written:
“When I’m God, everyone dies.”
The notebook also had pictures of Columbine High School killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and murderer Charles Manson. I don’t want to second guess the parents (not!) but I’d say all of those add up to t-r-o-u-b-l-e.
It would have been Columbine all over again except that police were able to intervene before the attack, which was planned for Valentine’s Day (inspired by a Marilyn Manson song). The two were discovered when a female student heard that the 15-year-old did not like her and was planning to kidnap and torture her and cut off her arms and legs.
They now sit in jail and will likely face conspiracy to commit murder.
Oh yes, they’ve admitted to everything so please hold back on any comments about “rushing to judgement,” “judging a book by its cover,” etc.).
