Dr. Zhivago Kicks the Crap Out of Valet

Omar Sharif is becoming the new Tara Reid–just can’t keep out of the tabloids. First the wild and crazy former star of “Dr. Zhivago” gets an Islamic death threat. Later he gets stuck with the one valet in Los Angeles that doesn’t understand how to convert Euros to dollars so he beats him while repeatedly calling him a “stupid Mexican.” What a wacky guy, no wonder he was cast in “Funny Girl.”
This being America, lawyers are now involved and the whole thing is being covered by Court TV.
So we now have Saudi assassins targeting an Egyptian born actor (because he played an Italian Catholic) beating a Mexican valet at an American steakhouse over Euros. Talk about globalization!
Update: Omar has pleaded not guilty in Beverly Hills. According to a civil lawsuit filed by the valet, Jan Anderson, Sharif was belligerent and intoxicated and called Anderson a “stupid Mexican” when he refused to accept a 20 euro note. Anderson, a Guatemalan immigrant, says Sharif then punched him. He is seeking $50-thousand in civil penalties, unspecified damages and attorney fees.
