Google founders shun trappings of wealth no more!

Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page have gotten so used to being smarter than everyone that they evidently think that they can make us believe that their purchase of a wide body jet is both economical and environmentally-friendly. Yeah right. It’s good to be smart but not if that makes you think everyone else is stupid. We at Independent Sources may not be as rich or intelligent as these guys, but we know a line of baloney when we hear it.

Tech moguls delight in public one-upmanship and the Google founders’ 767 raises the bar. Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen owns a fleet of aircraft, but his flagships — two Boeing 757s — are smaller than Messrs. Brin and Page’s 767.

Fearing a minor backlash from little people to whom Google tries so hard to be cool, the 32-year old billionaires have gone out of their way to show that the purchase was not driven by ego. Instead it’s to help people in Africa and other good works. Good luck on that one guys.
