Barbara Boxer: Conservatives Not Raised In Loving Families

Barbara Boxer’s novel “A Time To Run” is out, and it should be no surprise that conservatives don’t come off well in it. What they may find interesting is that she explains why people become conservative — and it has nothing to do with principle.

The novel features heroic liberals Josh and Ellen, who Los Angeles Times reporter Anne-Marie O’Connor describes as “liberal, altruistic, sane.” In contrast, their conservative, Ohio-bred friend Greg has an “emotionally abusive” father.

Boxer told O”Connor that the novel explores “why people become liberals and conservatives … the fact that [Josh and Ellen] had loving families made a very big difference.” There’s no doubt what she believes: loving families = liberal; abusive families = conservative.

Not to mention that Greg likes beer, football, and hunting.

The result? Journalist Greg “hurt(s) people.”

So, conservatives, forget all about your well thought out principles and policies, and look to your abusive families for the reason you turned out so wrong. And forget about winning an argument of reason and logic with Boxer and her ilk, because that’s not the ground she’s going to fight on.

Meanies.

I have a for you. The author came from what might be called the most conservatives of families, and I think she might agree with Boxer.

So one anecdotal report validates the vast generalization issued that all conservatives come from abusive families? If thats the case all stereotypes are true. For example I know a number of gay men who have AIDS, therefore all gay men have AIDS. I know a woman who is the worst driver I have ever seen, therefore all women are bad drivers.

Bulls**t. While some stereotypes may have a basis in a limited truth when applied across large groups they tend to fail.

I came from a very loving ultra-liberal shade-tree eco-friendly tofu and sprouts happy tie-dye Leftist family.
I became a conservative when I realized that almost everything Liberals had told and taught me was basically a narrow-minded projection of how we/they desperately wanted the world to be, and was not supported by the evidence.
I went along with it to get along, for too long.
Boxer is a simplistic and narrow-minded demagogue.

Barbara Boxer is by far the worst U.S. Senator that the state of California has. She has not helped with any of the issues facing California. Instead, she picks her spot and complains about the Republicans.

To me, I really don’t care whether you are Republican or Democrat. I do expect her to do her job. She has not created ONE JOB in the state, has not even attempted to get the power structure supporting our State. Also, she and the other our other lousy Senator, Diane Fienstien, have done absolutely nothing about the our gas prices, which are the highest in the Nation.

This would probably be of interest to some of my readers, Independent Sources takes a look at Barbara Boxer’s book, A Time To Run. The book implies that conservatives were not loved as children. As Independent Sources states, “There’s no doubt what she believes: loving families = liberal; abusive families = conservative”.
