Holly Ashcraft: LAT Delves Deeper into Baby Killer
Pop quiz: Can you pick out the child killer of the group below?

Answer: It was a trick question as they have all been arrested (or convicted) of killing their children. Since perpetrators of multiple homicides typically earn nicknames, Independent Sources has issued temporary names until the media coins them. From left to right Holly Ashcraft (the “Dumpster Killer”), Lashuan Harris (the “SF Bay Killer”) and Andrea Yates (the “Just Plan Whacko Killer”).
For the back story on Holly Ashcraft read (”Holly Ashcraft’s Shame” and “42 Second Drive Would Have Saved Her Newborn Son“). Now the LAT dispatched reporters to her Montana hometown to see if they could learn a more about why she did what she is suspected of doing (twice) and not surprisingly people see different things.
Some see Holly Ashcraft as:
“A gifted, hard-working student, mature beyond her years. A talented athlete who played three sports in high school. A popular, high-spirited girl whose impersonations and rowdy singing cracked up friends.”
“… thriving at USC…[someone who] was going to run some architecture firm some day.”
“She is so genuine, so real.”
Gee, how could such a genuine, real person kill one, and possibly two children? How could this be? Perhaps the following will help explain:
Her parents separated when she was 15 and she completely stopped communicating with her father. Now, this is a difficult age for father/daughter relationships but to stop communicating for 6 years would indicated some deep seated anger not to mention the propensity to avoid issues rather than work them out.
Second, she didn’t even live at home her senior year due to trouble with her parents. She got into an argument with her mother over a party (normal) but then blew it up into not living at home (not normal).
Notwithstanding the portrayals of Holly by her friends, she had serious issues–which is an understatement for someone who killed at least one and probably two babies.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an Independent Sources posting if we didn’t parse the comments by the defense attorney who piped in:
“Common sense would dictate that a 21-year-old like this doesn’t belong in there,” the attorney said. “She needs to be with her mother, with people who can help her.”
I think the same thing can be said about most moms who turn murderers. How about Lashuan Harris who just tossed her three kids into the San Francisco Bay? Does common sense dictate that she be with her mother and others who can help her?
While on the topic of child killers, do you know who this person is?

He’s Bruno Hauptmann, the killer of the Lindbergh baby. While his motivation may have been different that the killers listed at the top of this posting, the result was the same–except of course he only killed one child.

This whole situation makes me want to vomit. This woman deserves the death penalty: swift, merciless, and final. End of story. Doug TenNapel has a nice fisking of the article. Independent Sources linked with Holly Ashcraft: LAT Delves Deeper into Baby Killer

There’s actually a lot of support for the theory that Hauptmann was framed for the Lindbergh kidnapping … cops were under a lot of pressure and the result was possibly planted evidence, witness tampering, unlikely coincidences, etc.

Then again, he was a life long criminal in Germany before coming to the US where he also committed crimes. After the kidnapping, during a search of Hauptmann’s house and garage, nearly $15,000 of the Lindbergh ransom money and a plank containing the address and phone number of Dr. John Condon (who delivered the ransom money) was found. He said the money belonged to a deceased friend.
Unless this information was fabricated, he looks pretty guilty. Also, after 80 years you’d think something would have shown up to support the ‘he was framed’ theory.

Here is a great book by a legitimate author who argues that the physical evidence was suspicious (appearing after several earlier searches), the cops were under immense pressure to solve the case, and Hauptmann was an unlikely kidnapper:
“Crime of the Century: The Lindbergh Kidnapping and the Framing of Richard Hauptmann” (Ludovic Henry Kennedy)

i would consider holly one of my better friends in highschool and after just having had my own baby boy a year ago, i am totally shocked and sickened by the thought of her killing her brand new baby boy. but alot of what’s being said about holly is only about half true and i haven’t talked to her in a while but holly was a popular well rounded girl. she was good at sports and was extremely intelligent, if i remember correctly, she started taking highschool classes in 6th or 7th grade and continued to excell gradewise until she graduated. One thing that people are saying that isn’t quite true is that holly wasn’t a partyer but that was what was kind of different about holly, she was able to party some and still keep her grades up. not that i want to make her out to look like a party animal but what i want everyone to see is that holly was pretty much the perfect perfect highschool student, at least in my eyes. and as far as you guys saying that she hadn’t talked to her dad in 6 years?! thats bullshit because i remember talking to her about her dad and him drinking and how she hated it. that still isn’t a very healthy situation but i would be willing to bet that the reason they havn’t really talked in the passed few years is that she went away to college and they weren’t all that close to begin with. so don’t start comparing her to psycho killers and talking about how she should fry because to tell you the truth, and this is coming from someone who actually knows holly (unlike yourselves), you sound like an ignorant little person who is trying to get attention by pretending they have a clue. and NOW dont get me wrong, i think that from what we know about this whole baby killing case, it sounds really bad, so im definately not justifying what holly did, but i’m almost 100% sure that she had to have been doing drugs like tweek or something. she didn’t really do that when i hung out with her but i have a friend who said that he had hooked her up a few times and i know first hand what those kind of drugs can do to you. I guess ultimately the point i want to make is that you guys don’t need to talk shit about her to make her pay for this. that wont do anything but make you look stupid in the end. when holly comes completely down from this whole trip and she is able to think clearly like the real holly (And im sure shes already started to realize what she’s done), she will be punished enough by the thought and the consequences of her dumping her baby, if she’s guilty. and if she’s not guilty then why on earth would you dump your baby in a garbage can, even if it was stillborn, wouldn’t you atleast take it to the hospital w/ you?
