NYT: African Server Farm
Despite a ban on exporting high technology, some countries are able to acquire large numbers of servers and desktop machines from U.S. donors under the guise of it being humanitarian aid. Below is a Nigerian server farm. All it needs to be workable is some nice donor to drop off a slightly used 10,000 seat license of Oracle 11 (on floppies of course)–oh yeah, some electricity too.
