What’s 5-9, 140 lbs, plays football, and wears eyeliner?
Answer: Miranda McOsker–the starting quarterback for Southern California’s Bishop Montgomery High School’s JV football team. What’s more, she threw three touchdown passes in one game. How would you like to have been the team she was shredding?
It turns out that there are another 252 girls just like her playing football out of 100,000 boys at area schools. I would have guessed zero but that shows you how things have changed.
As Martini Republic aptly says “She Throws Like a Girl.”
I read a couple of the blogs that have posted things on her any many of the comments are from family members and friends. All say good things about her. So instead of our typical snarky take on things we just say good for you Miranda.
hat tip: LA Observed
We didn’t have a photo of Miranda so we have to run the only stock photograph of a female football player that we know:

This is New Mexico kicker Katie Hnida. Hnida became the first woman to play in an NCAA Division I football game when she attempted an extra point Wednesday following a New Mexico touchdown in the game. The kick was blocked.
technorati: Miranda McOsker
