Iranian Mob Burns U.S. Flags…again?
Iranians staged a protest of the European Union’s criticizing Iran for its nuclear program:
During the protest, organized by the hardline Basij militia, British and U.S. flags were burned. Groups of protesters hurled stones, tomatoes and smoke bombs into the walled compound and some tried to push past police to reach the [British] embassy’s main gate.
Independent Sources asks where do these protestors keep coming up with these U.S. flags? I can imagine that right after the revolution there were some legitimate U.S. flags to burn but that was over two decades ago. Haven’t those all been burned by now? Is there a shop in Tehran that sells them? Are they real or cheap knock-offs? Does someone actually make these in Iran? Do gag shops sell flags that don’t burn?
