Disney Tried To Cast Michael Eisner In The Role, But He Was Unavailable
Groups representing 80,000 flight attendants are calling for a boycott of Disney’s Jodie Foster movie “Flightplan.”
… According to (spokeswoman Corey) Caldwell, all of this (positive portrayal elsewhere in the film) is overshadowed by the fact that one of the flight attendants turns out to be a terrorist.
… “We have faced misconceptions for 75 years,” Caldwell said. “We could get over the rudeness, but the evilness, to be the villain, that is not acceptable.”
The group’s statement said the depiction of flight attendants was an “outrage” and objected to their portrayal as “rude, unhelpful and uncaring.”
The flight attendants haven’t proposed an alternative plot. It seems to us that the only other profession that would meet the plot requirement of “trusted person in position of authority on an airplane” would be … pilots. Look for it in the Summer of 2007.

This got me to thinking about all the movies I’ve seen over the years that include dirty cops. I don’t recall policemen ever protesting or calling for a boycott of these films. The difference between cops and stewardesses? STEWARDESSES ARE RETARDED! They choose to work in aluminum tubes stuffed with hundreds of smelly passengers. They push carts full of snacks and beverages up and down a tiny aisle, and for their efforts they rake in about $15k/year. Their working conditions make those Nike sweatshops in ‘Nam seem like Xanadu. Why protest a movie that implies one of their own is smart enough to be a terrorist? They should stow their inflated egos in an overhead bin and enjoy the film.

This boycott thing is spreading. I just heard that poor little begger children are boycotting the remake of “Oliver Twist” since they feel it unfairly portrays them as happy singing & dancing little street urchins.
