French Media Cites Katrina Response as Proof that U.S. Sucks
LAT reports that the French media have taken the misery associated with Katrina to attack their long-time enemy–the United States.
Marianne, a French newsmagazine declared: that the Katrina response discredited the entire free-market-driven, militaristic Anglo-Saxon model of governance.
Yes, this is the same France that witnessed 15,000 of its own citizens succumb to a heat wave while it’s leaders remained on holiday. I don’t remember American writers using that opportunity to question the socialistic French model. Would the U.S. response to Katrina have been any better if everyone had been on vacation?
