405 Freeway Killing Takes New Twist

Evidently one of the 8 Million Ways to Die is to fall out of a limousine into pre-dawn traffic on the 405 Freeway:

On August 10, 2005, [Jessica] Rowe was killed when she fell out of a limousine and into pre-dawn traffic on the San Diego Freeway. The 17-foot-long, 20-passenger Hummer limo was traveling in the southbound carpool lane on Interstate 405 in Costa Mesa at a 75 mph clip. After taking her fatal plunge, Rowe was struck by at least a dozen cars. The accident scene stretched for a mile and a half and CHP investigators had to close down two freeway lanes to collect the bits and pieces that remained of Jessica Rowe.

Today, investigators revealed that Rowe’s death was accidental and not suicide.

End of story? Evidently not. 8763 Wonderland, the blog that posted the above story, had the following comment appear on the blog:

“she was f**king pushed”

In other words, Jessica was murdered. Now, we all get trolls but this comment was from the sister of the girl who was killed. This exchanged lead to this website with a fuller story and a rather humanizing aspect to the whole matter.

My sister wouldnt do this to herself, I loved her very much and I tried to be there the best I could, and she knew how much she meant to me and her boys, and my son.. I hope everything I told you helps to see her in a different perspective. She was a good person, very kind..anything else I can help you with, feel free to ask!

Will the truth of Jessica’s death really come out? It’s hard to tell, but if she was murdered her killers will now have to contend not only with an angry sister but also a blogging community that is starting to look at the problems with the “accidental death” presumption by the authorities.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve followed a story with 8763Wonderland. Read the incredible saga of Chris Julian Irwin as he disappeared into the night claiming to be chased by Nigerian Internet scammers and dogs.

Update: 8763Wonderland has posted new information on the deceased. Warning: the more “human” that the victim is the more disturbing the whole saga. (Of course that’s the objective).

I wish to “Thank You” for giving Erica the opportunity not only to vent but also for listening to her concerns. The death of her sister has been extremely tramatic for her.

I too feel that there has been some sort of cover-up. I dont understand how the investigators can just make the assumption that Jessica knew these people based on their statements.

Hopefully our new “L.A. blogosphere’s version of Holmes and Watson” will be able to draw enough attention to get a true investigation going.

    Thank you again for listening.
