Now on DVD: The Wonderland Crime Scene!

For whatever reason the “Wonderland murders” (also known as the “Laurel Canyon Murders”) have made it to the celebrated list of grisly murders that seem destined to never to be forgotten. Perhaps it is because the true story reads like a detective story, complete with addiction, betrayal, and rivalry, with the porn star John Holmes acting as the catalyst.

There is also a website that we have linked to and raved about called 8763Wonderland (the street address of the murders) and they have just started marketing the:

“…uncut version of the LAPD crime scene footage of the Wonderland murders. This is a pristine copy from the Betacam master burned onto DVD. No grainy footage like the truncated version available on the “Wonderland” DVD, everything you see here is clear, vivid and in living color.”

We’re not sure if we are going to get a reviewer’s copy, a courtesy discount or whether we’ll have to buy it retail, but for certain our curiosity has the best of us–and I doubt we are alone.

Additional reading: Both Independent Sources and 8763 Wonderland covered the bizarre story of Christian Irwin Julian’s running off into the wild chased by imaginary Nigerian Internet scammers.
