FEMA to Mac Users: You’re Screwed

Attn: Katrina Survivors Who are Mac Users

Find that old PC you junked before you switched to Apple. It turns out that to make a claim with the FEMA’s Individual Assistance Center, your Web browser must be Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6 or higher and you must have JavaScript enabled. One problem: IE6 isn’t available for Macintosh or Linux computers.

Even with a brand new Mac mini or a Linux laptop you will be out of luck and all you’ll get is the error message: “We are sorry for not being able to proceed your requests because you have failed our tests.” Trying with Opera, Netscape or Safari won’t be any better.

Source: MSNBC (and yes we find that ironic too)

While on the subject of Apple, last month we wrote this:

iPod Shuffle 2GB/4GB Accidentally Exposed? Or Brilliant Marketing?

Yesterday, Apple announced the 2GB/4GB iPods. Yes you heard it here first and we want to encourage you to take this one example of us being right and extrapolate it to everything you read on Independent Sources. It’s called the halo effect and we want it.
