Google Maps is quickly becoming the tool for seeing first hand the destruction in New Orleans. Google either sensing a public service opportunity or perhaps a marketing opportunity has added “Katrina” buttons on to the Google Maps page.

Here is a before and after of the New Orleans Superdome.

While on the subject of Google, Steve Balmer reportedly vowed to “kill” Google in an obscenity-laced tirade last November:

… Mr. Ballmer picked up a chair and threw it across the room hitting a table in his office. Mr. Ballmer then said: “F**king Eric Schmidt is a f**king pussy. I’m going to f**king bury that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again. I’m going to f**king kill Google.” ….
