Sharpton Victim of Racial Profiling at 110 mph

Independent Sources just loves this sort of thing:

A car carrying the Rev. Al Sharpton led sheriff’s deputies on a nine-mile chase at speeds up to 110 mph before state troopers stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, authorities said.

Because the 2005 Lincoln was rented to Jarrett B. Maupin, of Phoenix, sheriff’s deputies impounded the car. Maupin posted a $1,000 bond on charges of evading arrest with a vehicle and reckless driving, authorities said.

The car carrying Sharpton and two other passengers was clocked doing 110 mph in a 65 mph zone on the interstate south of Dallas, Chief Deputy Charles Sullins said.

He said the driver ignored deputies’ attempts to stop it and weaved in and out of traffic before state troopers were able to get in front of the car.

We can’t wait to hear the defenses from Sharpton. 1) He is a victim of racism and they were only pulled over because he is black. 2) They were going with the flow of traffic (everyone was going 110 mph). 3) Bush just had him pulled over to detract from his presence at Camp Casey.

Update: Angry in the Great White North has the 411 on Jarrett Maupin, which might be the real story here. (Nice complementary information on the “Rev” from Bore America).

Looks bad for Sharpton, unless he pleads ignorance. Then I’d have to let him walk, since he’s damn near the most ignorant man in the country.
