Christian Irwin Saga: Aftermath
As LA Observed wrote, the story had a simple ending as he was found pretty much where he was last seen.
But how does one elude sheriff’s deputies, dogs, helicopters, news media, friends, relatives, etc. right where they are all looking for you? Evidently, if you think the world is out to kill you, and you are in a dense canyon, it’s indeed possible.
So in the end, it appears that something set Christian off last Sunday night and put him into a major delusional state. He ran into the rugged canyon below his house and remained there while an intense manhunt was going on. Whether it was a previously un-diagnosed mental condition, drugs or something else will have to be determined my the mental health professionals who are now caring for him.
Christian’s family deserves a great deal of credit on this one. If not for their flyers and their attempts to keep this in the media, it is possible that the neighbor who found him would have mistaken him as a transient and just shooed him away. He certainly could not have survived much longer in that area, particularly given his mental condition.
Once again, it turns out that when multiple theories are possible, the simplest one is the correct one.

Thanks for staying on top of this story. God willing, Chris will pull himself together now and deliver a new Art Garfunkel album.

The Los Angeles Times’ “Corrections” section:
Record producer — An article in Saturday’s California section about the discovery of missing record producer and engineer Christian Julian Irwin said Irwin had been nominated for three Grammys and had produced recordings for Queen Latifah, De La Soul, Carly Simon, David Bowie and Vanessa Williams. Irwin, who identifies himself as Chris Julian, has not been nominated for any Grammys and has not produced recordings by those artists.
