Bay Area to Military: Go Back To America

Cinnamon Stillwell provides a great wrap-up of all the recent anti-military activity in the Bay Area. From SF Gate.com:

Not content with simply protesting the war, they’ve trained their sights on all things military. In an apparent effort to rid the city of any semblance of its military history, various leftist groups, and even some city officials, are trying to erase the military’s presence altogether. In short, San Francisco has declared itself a military-free zone.

Along with some incidents that we posted about such as trying to kick a Navy recruiting booth out of an outdoor concert and sending the battleship Iowa and accompanying museum to Stockton (here, and here), she has one we haven’t heard of:

San Francisco’s attitude toward the military is evident in other areas as well. A group that calls itself the Bay Area Peace Navy has been on a quest to rid the city of Fleet Week and the spectacular, albeit loud, air shows of the Blue Angels. So far they’ve been unsuccessful, but give it time.

Her litany is sadly impressive. We look forward to the day when, after the Bay Area secedes from the United States, they have to defend themselves from invading Danes by throwing really hot lattes at them.

Just one of the many reasons that this Bay Area native took her kids, got the heck out, and never looked back.

I used to adore The City, fleet week was always nuts, but fun, the fireworks at Chrissy Field on Independence Day left you standing in awe (even though your ears would ring for days afterwards). Golden Gate Park with all of it’s amazing museum, aquarium. My kids spent countless weekends at the exploritorium..

The city used to welcome everyone, now it’s become one of the most intolerent places I’ve ever seen. Though still beautiful, it’s only a shell of what it used to be. I spent the first 39 years of my life there..when the last of my family is gone, I doubt I’ll ever return.

Quite honestly, it makes me very sad.
