iBook: $50; iBook Riot: Priceless!
We at Independent Sources have to admit, we live for stories like the iBook riot. Stupidity on steroids. It also allows us to make snarky comments like this one that we lifed from the Cookie Jar:
- Losing a contract to Dell: $4 million
- Medical treatment for a few injured: $2,000
- Cost of extra riot police: $3,000
- Publicity from this event: Priceless
Here is a roundup of some other folks that like to do the same thing:

Have you “herd” of any others we missed? Let us know.
Now some interprising person has one-upped us and besides making fun of everyone involved has figured out a way to make money at the same time. The funniest thing about it is that they are doing it on eBay which is what the school district should have done in the first place.
Last minute story addition: The post-riot iBooks are already starting to show up on eBay. This story just keeps getting better. (Here is another one).
Read the original riot story here.

Looks like the people at eBay had decided to cancel all those auctions. I think it was probably complaints from the school district.
