Well they just recently got around to adding photo support in a way that didn't require third party tools so we know that they are still adding to it. That said they haven't incorporated Google Ad Sense into Blogger and adding links is still not intuitive so it's hard to say where on their list spam blogs are.

Also, an evil person would say that they like the fact that less sophisticated search engines (like Technorati) don't weed out the spam thereby making Google's sophistication that much more of a distinction.

Blogspot should just start policing its users a little better. There is all kinds of bullshit business advertisements and they should be shut down. No one really does business through a blospot page anyway.

It may have been Cuban's way of taking a shot over their bow to prod action or perhaps just to get some press for his own work. I can tell you that when Independnent Sources uses Technorati the spam blogs are all over that and when people claim that "a blog is created every second" or whatever stat they are using I'm not sure how much those #s are poluted by the bots.

Ignoring the largest Blog service provider is not a good option, especially if it happens to be Google; but there are other ways to fight Splogging.

I'm sure the whizzes at all-knowing google can figure out how to more quickly identify the spam blogs. Especially since they own Blogger.

Oh, great. I've stayed with blogspot because it's easy and I'm a techno-idiot. Any recommendations for another host that's user friendly?

Spam Blog = Splog : How Is It Affecting The Blogosphere?

I just read a post by Mark Cuban that explained it simply as spam in the form of a blog. What is splog? Spam Blog = Splog Clever naming convention I know, but splog is creating an astrericks next
