UN Solving Chronic Board Game Shortage In Afghanistan

I think we all know what has been lacking in Afghanistan, a good board game. Since young boys are no longer joining the Taliban, there are tens of thousands of them sitting around with no PS2’s, X-Boxes, schools, electricity, unveiled girls, or other normal teenage activities. If you know the saying “idle minds are the devil’s playground,” in this part of the world that means joining the Global Jihad.

No doubt after a long, careful and expensive study, and possibly a fat consulting contract for a few UN officials’ family members, the UN has decided to address this chronic board game shortage by introducing its own game, The Road to Peace“. Think of it as a board version of Sim City meets Grand Theft Auto.

Some people might think that creating an entertaining parlor game is outside of the UN’s skill set. However, we at Indepedent Sources think having solved the crises in Kosovo, Iraq, and Cyprus, the UN can pretty much do anything that they set their minds to. Just look at how they’ve resolved the Iranian nuclear crisis. For an organization that can do all that, creating a great game is child’s play!
