The World’s Worst Liberal Blog is Sure Mad at Us
We noticed quite a bit of traffic coming from a blog that we had never heard of and found this posting on a website called Blue Flypaper…
“I have seen the enemy and their name is…Independent Sources“
I am particularly upset about the Independent Sources blog because I am pretty sure that they are the ones that posted us on Fark. Initially I thought this was a complement and even sent them a note thanking them. However, in the end, I believe they did it to ridicule us. We never did anything to them so I don’t know why they did that to us. (Karl Rove must work there!)
Most of our readers will never have heard of Independent Sources because as a true liberal you should try and stay away from reading non-liberal publications like this. How can I tell that these guys non-liberals? Well, just look at some of the articles that they have on their blog:
Independent Sources did receive an email from them last month and we thought it was a joke and sent a response in kind. Looking at their site, I am not sure if it is an elaborate joke or a statement on sad state of liberal bloggers–either way it looked like good Fark material. I guess DailyKos had to start somewhere too.
For the record, we are honored that they put us on their blog roll (albeit under “the enemy”) however we do not expect to reciprocate.
H/T: to the people who emailed us telling us about this. Thanks.
Updates: Area417 says this about Blue Flytrap: Where else could one find such statements as ” Unlike so many other celebrities that just talk the talk, Penn (yes, that would be Sean Penn) went to Baghdad and became an expert on WMDs and Iraqi affairs.”
Boxer Watch not surprisingly zeroed in on BlueFlypaper’s gushing comments about Barbara Boxer, specifically: “You can’t be blue without loving Barbara Boxer! No U.S. Senator has done more to obstruct the horrible goals of the Republicans.”
Blogmeister USA had the stomach to read thru the comments on the Blue Flypaper website (something we couldn’t do) and found this gem among others: What’s all the fuss about. They are conservative which by definition means they are wrong. Conservatives have been wrong about every single thing from Iraq to terrorism to the economy. We need to raise taxes, raise wages, give free healthcare, leave Iraq, and stop supporting corrupt governments. We also need to lower rents, feed homeless people, and get rid of the (un)Patriot act. Why are these things so hard for Bush & co to understand. Read my lips…
OkieBoy said: it’s gotta be “…the stupidest bunch of loonies that have the where-with-all to use a keyboard”!
From BlueFlypaper comment: “Michelle Malkin, Captain’s Quarters and Independent Sources are all of the same thing. Blah, blah, blah, free market this, blah, blah, blah free market that.” (If the person who wrote this wasn’t so ideologically disturbed, we’d like to give them a job writing pithy postings for us. Perhaps if they grow up in a few years.)

This has to be the funniest comment ever…
I don’t even know where to start with that one.

This site seems to me to be a satire in the same vein as “Blame Bush”, a “left-wing” blog written by a pro-Bush guy that basically made fun of lefties. The articles and commentary are just too boilerplate for it to be anything else.
Of course I am assuming this because there seems to be no reasoning or thought behind the ideas posted, so I guess they COULD be true liberals.

I have to agree with Mitch. Blue Flypaper appears to be a satire site. (though, having not seen the e-mails, I can’t say for certain.) I’d be curious to see what hate mail your site is getting. It might be good for a laugh or three.

I’ll admit the site as the sincerity of a gnat and, I might add, equally annoying. Why pick on us though? We are hardly alone in debunking Krugman or challenging the statements of Boxer. We always thought we did it with a sense of style and humor. I would like to issue an Independent Sources version of a fatwah on them but that might just piss them off even more.
As for publishing the hate mail, let me see if there is anything keep us from posting them or at least excerpts. Good idea.
One thing for certain, the site is a good place for me to see what the moonbats are up to.

Evil genius. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

I don’t think there is any expectation of privacy regarding email messages, but if you really want to make sure you’re on the right side of the law, just don’t include any information that would identify the sender. The following discussion from http://www.netatty.com/privacy/privacy.html is relevant:
Individual states specifically prohibit defamation, no matter what form it takes. Defamation consists of false and unprivileged publication which results in economic damages. Financial loss is not necessary where the statement implies that a person is a criminal or has an unpleasant disease, or which injures a person in respect to his other office, profession, or business. A judge in Texas issued an injunction to stop defamatory posting by an Internet user. 17 Hate messages sent by e-mail have also resulted in criminal penalties. 18
In some cases, companies have asked the court system to identify the authors of anonymous defamatorymessages. This has been done by filing “John Doe” lawsuits andissuing subpoenas to Yahoo! and other message boards where individuals have posted the disparaging messages. 19 Most such subpoenas go unchallenged.
So please, share. Just don’t identify anyone.

if you are going to issue a fatwa against them, make sure you issue it to misogynistic, totalitarian, close-minded, ignorant, hate-filled, religious fanatics…
and no, I do not mean Republicans {wink}, I mean the ones they want to ignore.

This little tidbit from their site–” It is not enough to be for something, anyone can do that. Boldness comes from what you stand against. Anti = Virtue.”
They just don’t get that being “Anti” is one of their biggest problems. Hey, how about some SOLUTIONS for a change.

If it weren’t for the hate mail, I’d have assumed that it HAD to be satire. I felt my I.Q. drop 10 points just by scanning it.

I tried to read through the site but lost my nerve when I realized that these people actually vote. I think we are seeing a side-effect of the motor voter bill and Rock the Vote.

Heh heh. Blue Flypaper is clearly a satire site. That pic of Kerry alone was priceless, Fonda in Vietnam… Blue Flypaper damns its subjects with empty praise and backhanded compliments.
On Alec Baldwin: “He even threatened the whole country that they just might lose Alec Baldwin if they elected GW as President. I wouldn’t be surprised if that threat alone brought 1 million or more votes to the Democrats. ”
What a hoot! I am wracking my brains to come up with an amusing comment.

On the Lighter Side
I should have mentioned this site before, but I came across it one fine day from the friendly website Independent Sources: Blue Flypaper by True Blue
