Weekend Edition: “Guilty as Sin, Free as a Bird:” Michael Jackson Jury Weak, Corrupt and Immoral

Which is more despicable: a supposedly impartial jury being too-biased to convict a repeat pedophiliac or being too-intimidated to do so?

Widely suspected and now confirmed, the Jackson jury featured at least female three members who were such ardent fans of Jackson that they became committed to his innocence even before a third of the prosecution’s case had been presented.

According to one juror, the three biased jurors cooed “Not my Michael…” when the panel discussed the sex abuse charges.

Independent Sources wasn’t present for the jury instructions but we’re sure the judge said something about weighing all of the evidence.

One group of the jurors was in love with Michael and didn’t seem to regard any of his sex abuse victims as worthy of justice. “How many hit songs did those kids have anyway?” some of these jurors must have thought. “Where do these untalented kids come off accusing Michael who has a lot of hit songs?” It is pretty clear that these jurors lied to get on the panel so that they could be near the King of Pop and help him out of his little bind.

The second category of jurors were the schemers who intended to leverage the trial to write books and achieve other personal gain. Some of them also must have lied to get on the jury. This group is now accused of committing a litany of misconduct during the trial and deliberations. At least two are already shopping their book deals and one even has a title, “Guilty as Sin, Free as a Bird.” Two of these jurors, Elanor Cook and Ray Hultman, now say that they believe Jackson was guilty.

The remaining jury members were made up of individuals so weak that they allowed themselves to be bullied by the Jackson-obsessed jurors and the book writers. I heard one of these jurors interviewed after the verdict and they were incapable of stating any reasons for returning a verdict of not guilty other than to say the victim’s mother was “not credible.” But when confronted with the fact that the mother was not on trial and there was other evidence presented that had nothing to do her, the juror was silent.

So where does that leave us? Jackson is off the hook though his career is in the toilet. Jackson’s demise probably has as much to do with his releasing a string of crumby albums and tired repackages as his pedophilia. The jurors having completely shirked their civic responsibility are out trying to make a quick buck and/or attending parties with Jackson. It would be nice if someone could comb through the statements now being made by the jury members and go after some/all of them for misconduct, but of course that is unlikely. If somehow it did happen however that’s one jury I would love to serve on.
